The Championship club Birmingham City have revealed that he will be making assessments over the fitness of the defender Curtis Davies prior to the visit of Hull City to St Andrews. This match will also see the return of the former Birmingham manager Steve Bruce, who is currently in charge of Hull City.

He has been able to transform the fortunes of the former Premier league club, who are now in a position to challenge for the play-offs and even further for the automatic promotion spot. This will be a very tough match according to the Birmingham manager Lee Clark, who has had to deal with a lot of issues during this time at St Andrews.

Birmingham come into the match having had just two victories in the last few months. Since September, the club has had only two victories against Leeds and Bristol, while they have suffered numerous defeats and draws during this period. As a result, they lie in the 19th position in the table just a few places over the relegation zone. Hull, meanwhile, come into the match in the fourth position just a few points below the Championship leaders Crystal Palace. The fitness of the defender Curtis Davies is the major worry for manager Lee Clark.

Other players who are also suffering from injury problems ahead of this match include the midfielder Keith Fahey and the striker Leroy Lita. The manager has confirmed that the defender Paul Caddis has been making sufficient progress in his attempts to recover from the shoulder injury. He is expected to be back into the first-team in the next few weeks. Robinson’s previous club was Bolton Wanderers. His contract with Bolton expired at the end of the last season and due to his inconsistent form, Bolton decided not to extend his contract. He was not approached by too many clubs during the pre season transfer window and he was without a contract till now.

The captain of the team, Stephen Carr, is suffering from a severe knee injury, while, Paul Caddis has gone through a shoulder surgery and he has been ruled out of the team for the next three months. David Murphy is also out of the team due to a hamstring injury.

Lee Clark was looking for an experienced defender and he decided to sign Robinson. However, it’s a very short contract which will get expired on 26th of October.

In the last season, Robinson’s performance was not that good. He looked completely out of touch in the first half of the last season. He was placed on loan to Leeds United in March 2012 for a month. He played a few matches for them, but, didn’t manage to make a mark.

Robinson had been practicing with Toronto FC since the last one month. After signing Robinson, Lee Clark said, “Unfortunately, some of our key players are injured and we badly needed the services of a defender who has got some experience. Robinson is a fantastic left back and he is experienced as well. So, we decided to bring him in the squad for a month.”

Birmingham City will play its next match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 29th of September at Amex Stadium.

The former Aston Villa defender was linked with a move to yet another Midlands rival after it was revealed that Norwich city manager Chris Hughton is a major fan of the former Aston Villa star.

Even though he has not been able to secure a move to the Premier league club this summer, it is thought that he still remains extremely happy with life at Birmingham city. Chris Hughton recently conceded that he is a big fan of Curtis Davies and will go to any length to bring him to Norwich city.

However, Birmingham issued a hands off approach to Norwich by saying that they do not intend to sell the start despite the significant financial troubles they have been facing prior to the start of the new season. Despite the financial problems, they have been extremely good in the pre-season friendlies so far. Their latest pre-season friendly against Borussia Mönchengladbach finished in a 2-2 draw, which was an extremely entertaining contest. Speaking after the match, Davies said that he is surprised and happy at the form shown by the club in the pre-season.

“It was good to have a challenge like Monchengladbach so early. On paper it looked like it was going to be a tough one with it being our first game. I think we did really well. I don’t think you could tell the difference in the level of the two sides and I don’t think you could tell a difference in the fitness. We gave a good account of ourselves. The big thing about this result was the way we played as a team and the fitness,” said Curtis Davies.

Even though Chris Hughton has a great record as a manager, Curtis Davies does not think that he will get the opportunity to stay in the Premier league for a long time. As result, there is a danger that this move could fall through. Curtis Davies signed for Birmingham from arch rivals Aston Villa many seasons ago, and has been a key part of their success. Fans will certainly not be happy at the sale of such a key player.

“It’s the culture of one pint too many. I feel for [club owner] Randy Lerner and the fans but the players need to show some respect for themselves and the football club. It’s a slur on the club.
