DAVIES UNSURE ON NORWICH MOVE

Birmingham city defender Curtis Davies is thought to be extremely sceptical about moving to Norwich city. The Canaries recently appointed former Birmingham manager Chris Hughton, who was instrumental in getting the best out of Curtis Davies last season.

He has been linked with a £ 5 million more to the Premier league with Norwich city, but the player is not looking at move to Norwich due to the fact that he is not confident about their ability to stay up in the Premier league next season, playing the likes of Man City and Arsenal. Paul Lambert managed to guide Norwich city comfortably above the relegation zone.

Even though Chris Hughton has a great record as a manager, Curtis Davies does not think that he will get the opportunity to stay in the Premier league for a long time. As result, there is a danger that this move could fall through. The 27-year-old is also thought to be extremely keen on staying in Birmingham after having spent a major portion of his life in the city.

Curtis Davies signed for Birmingham from arch rivals Aston Villa many seasons ago, and has been a key part of their success. Fans will certainly not be happy at the sale of such a key player.

If Chris Hughton fails to get this man from Birmingham, then he is likely to look at other alternatives to bring in ahead of the pre-season tour. It is already thought that he is looking at the signings of Jack Butland, while Everton’s Yobo could also be a surprise signing as well.

Even prior to Chris Hughton being confirmed as the Norwich city manager, it was rumoured that his first signing would be Curtis Davies. Chris Hughton also has to prioritise keeping Grant Holt at the club. The England striker has scored more than 15 goals for the club last season.
